The Nutrition Education Activity Training (NEAT) program promotes healthy eating and living for up to 700 students between the ages of 6-12 in Knox County, where it’s estimated that 39-percent of children are overweight or obese. The program educates students about healthy eating habits and provides them with increased opportunities for physical activities. NEAT is a collaboration among the Knoxville Parks and Recreation Department, the Tennessee Nutrition Consumer Education Program and the Knox County Health Department.
