Biography

Jessica Oakley was born and raised in Cleveland, Tennessee and graduated from Bradley Central High School in 2006. In the fall of 2006, Jessica began her freshman year at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She graduated in May 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and a minor in Adolescent Health. During her years as a student at the University of Tennessee, Jessica excelled academically, professionally, and in her extra curricular activities. Despite always holding two or three jobs, her grades were always on the University’s academic honor roll. Through teacher recommendations and personal ambition, Jessica has developed herself as a nutrition professional by participating in multiple research studies, gaining certifications to teach group fitness classes, volunteering to teach nutrition education programs to both children and adults, and holding job positions in a natural medicine office, the clinical dietetic environment of a hospital, and as a research assistant in a children’s weight management clinic. She did take a semester break from her busy schedule to study abroad in Australia, which she considers a life-changing experience. As the oldest of four children, she has felt the need to set the bar high for her younger brothers and sister and credits her family for her success in life. In her free time Jessica enjoys being an active member of her sorority and traveling.
